The 87-foot Coast Guard Cutter Osprey, homeported in Port Townsend, Wash., transits in Puget Sound toward the anchored Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star, Saturday, December 5, 2020 to deliver a secondary hydraulic pump for the ice breaker’s engineers. The 44-year-old Polar Star is heading north for a months-long deployment to project power and support national security objectives throughout Alaskan waters and into the Arctic, including along the Maritime Boundary Line between the United States and Russia.
