U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Timothy E. Gowen, adjutant general for Maryland, presents and applauds the Maryland National Guard’s newest general officer, Brig. Gen. Joseph D. Reale’s at the Maj. Gen. Harry C. Ruhl Armory in Towson, Md., Nov. 7, 2020. Reale, originally from Malden, Mass., is the Deputy Commanding General for Support for the 29th Infantry Division. Reale was commissioned in 1991 and joined the Maryland National Guard in 1992. He has held many positions from company to strategic level assignments and primary staff positions and has served as Director J7 for the Maryland Joint Force Headquarters, Commander of 581st Troop Command, Commander of the 291st Digital Liaison Detachment and Commander of 58th Troop Command.
