201119-N-TP832-1206 OKINAWA, Japan (Nov. 19, 2020) Equipment Operator 1st Class Sergio Alvarez, assigned to U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, guides Senior Airman Adam McKinney, assigned to the U.S. Air Force 18th Civil Engineer Squadron, as he operates an excavator with a jack hammer attachment to break up concrete for excavation during a rapid airfield damage repair exercise on Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. NMCB-3 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
