U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District engineers inspect the maintenance repairs to the Buffalo confined disposal facility (CDF) #4, Buffalo, NY, September 23, 2020. “Since the CDF was built, decades of storm wave action and freeze/thaw cycling have deteriorated and shifted the large stones on the dike crest.” said Geoff Hintz, USACE Buffalo District project manager. “This repair work will assure the CDF continues to function as originally designed.”
