    NSA Bahrain Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Waterside Security Barrier

    MANAMA, Bahrain (Oct. 21, 2020) Maggie Nardi, U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires to the Kingdom of Bahrain, center, cuts a ribbon with Rear Adm. Curt Renshaw, deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, right, along with senior military and host nation leadership at a ceremony celebrating the installation of the coalition maritime forces waterfront security barrier at the Mina Salman Pier on board NSA Bahrain. The barrier is the first water-limited obstacle system security barrier system ever installed at an overseas naval installation, and the longest waterside security barrier in the U.S. Navy. NSA Bahrain enables the forward operations and responsiveness of U.S. and allied forces in support of Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central’s mission to provide services to the fleet, warfighter and family.
