U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl Malik Pugh, a digital wideband systems maintainer with Communications Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group (3rd MLG) and Fairview Heights, Illinois native, secures his assault pack in preparation for a Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation (MCCRE) on Kadena Airforce Base, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 16, 2020. The MCCRE will be conducted at Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji to ensure unit standardization and combat readiness in preparation for operational deployments. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
