A South Carolina Army National Guard LUH-72A Lakota helicopter assigned to the 2-151st Aviation Regiment (SSAB) supports first responders and local authorities in the aftermath of a severe thunderstorm that spawned multiple tornadoes across South Carolina on April 13, 2020. The helicopter conducted a damage-assessment flight over multiple locations in Oconee and Pickens counties. This mission was performed in addition to ongoing COVID-19 support operations; at April 13, the South Carolina National Guard had activated approximately 355 service members.
