U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Frank Dugger, the maintenance control chief for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463, nearly died from two cardiac episodes while deployed to Afghanistan in 2009. The 41-year-old native of Tallahassee, Fla., used his second chance to turn his life around. He quit drinking, began eating more healthily and decided to complete a triathlon. Less than a year later, he completed an Ironman triathlon in Cozumel, Mexico. In total, he's finished 9 marathons and 30 triathlons.
