SAN DIEGO (Aug. 12, 2020) Ens. John Cook, a Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) intern assigned to Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), trains on a fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery simulation unit task trainer in the hospital’s Bio-Skills Laboratory and Simulation Center Aug. 12. NMCSD’s fully-accredited Simulation Center hosted the interns as they continue their laparoscopic training with telementoring systems. NMCSD’s mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMCSD employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians, and contractors in Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
