Ryan D. McCarthy, the US Secretary of the Army, greets Maj. Rob Pough, a planner
with the 1st Cavalry Division Forward, with a "COVID bump." The greeting has
been adopted by Soldiers as a replacement to the handshake
to help prevent the spread of the COVID virus. McCarthy recognized several
Soldiers during his visit to Poznan, Poland on July 15, 2020, where he also discussed the 1CD FWD
mission and the improvements being made at the division forward base.
