A naval warship, consistent with a U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, is firing its forward-mounted deck gun at sea. A large cloud of white-gray propellant smoke is visible at the muzzle, indicating the gun has just discharged. The vessel is underway on open ocean under overcast skies.
