200624-N-RF825-1035 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 24, 2020) USNS Alan Shepard (T-AKE 3) pulls alongside the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Reagan’s ability to conduct replenishment-at-sea provides the strike group with a tactical advantage of sustained operational presence. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, as well as the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific.
