200618-N-MW964-1114 PORT HUENEME, Calif. (Jun. 18, 2020) – Capt. David H. McAlister, out-going commodore, Naval Construction Group (NCG) 1, passes the flag to in-coming commodore, Capt. Matthew C. Riethmiller during a non-traditional change of command ceremony shared live through social media platoforms. The tradition of passing the flag has been a long passed Seabee tradition and was continued today. Seabees are the expeditionary engineering and construction experts of the naval service. They provide task-tailored, adaptable and combat-ready engineering and construction forces that deploy to support Navy objectives globally.
