U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Kenneth Shirley, a Pearl, Mississippi native and assault breach vehicle operator with 2d Combat Engineer Battalion (CEB), 2d Marine Division, operates an M1 assault breach vehicle at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, June 16, 2020. Shirley demonstrated the attributes of a model non-commissioned officer by dedicating his personal time to improving himself through rigorous physical fitness. He ran 31.5 miles in one day during a battalion memorial run for fallen 2d CEB Marines. Shirley was selected as the 2d MARDIV Motivator of the Week for his tireless work ethic and initiative.
