A U.S. Air Force crew chief assigned to the 352d Special Operations Wing prepares to deliver over 16,000 lbs., of MRE’s to deployed special operations forces (SOF) members using the MC130J Commando II, May 15, 2020, in Kyiv, Ukraine during a re-supply. The delivery was part of the 352 SOW’s mission to enhance readiness and maintain a ready and capable force. Through this type of training, SOF members remain postured to execute global response operations and support multiple NATO allies and partners in the Black Sea and Balkans region during the global COVID-19 crisis. The Commando II flies clandestine, or low visibility, single or multi-ship, low-level air refueling missions for special operations helicopters and tiltrotor aircraft, and infiltration, exfiltration, and resupply of SOF by airdrop or air-land intruding politically sensitive or hostile territories.
