Residents and supporters of the Veterans Home of California-Barstow gather on Memorial Day, May 25, in front of the Home to cheer on those who turned out by the thousands on motorcycles, cars and off-road vehicles to show their support of the 24-year-old facility. Official estimates of the turnout put it between 5,000 and 7,000 people from as far away as Arizona and Washington state.
