Lt. Gen. Laura Richardson (left), commanding general of U.S. Army North, presents a coin to Lt. j.g. Andrea Jefferson, a Sailor with Expeditionary Medical Facility-M and a native of Athens, Ga., at Baton Rouge General Mid City campus May 29, 2020. The coin is in recognition of Jefferson going above and beyond during COVID-19 response operations. The Department of Defense will transition its tasks of life saving and sustaining, and the reduction of immediate threats to public health, to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other federal, state, and local agencies as they continue to conduct recovery and mitigation.
