Brig. Gen. D. Keith Waddell (right), adjutant general of Louisiana, presents a statue to Master Chief Petty Officer Juan Lopez (left), command master chief of Expeditionary Medical Facility-M, and Capt. Kevin Brown, commander of EMF-M, at Baton Rouge General Mid City campus May 29, 2020. The statue is a token of appreciation for their outstanding service in support of the citizens of Louisiana during COVID-19 pandemic response to save lives and alleviate suffering. The Department of Defense will transition its tasks of life saving and sustaining, and the reduction of immediate threats to public health, to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and other federal, state, and local agencies as they continue to conduct recovery and mitigation. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible DOD support to FEMA for the whole-of-nation COVID-19 response. (Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt. Anthony Kirby)
