    The nation’s third highest award for valor, the Silver Star Medal, lies in wait, ready to be presented to Woodstock, Ga., native, Lance Cpl. Jeffrey Cole. Cole was awarded the medal July 10 for his selfless actions when his patrol came under enemy fire in Marjah, Afghanistan in August 2010.
