200512-N-HR150-1037 PHILIPPINE SEA (May 12, 2020) - Damage Controlman 2nd Class Brandon Carrick, from Palm Springs, California, simulates a class bravo fire during a crash-and-salvage drill on the flight deck of USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). Crash-and-salvage drills are conducted to train damage control personnel how to fight fires, rescue personnel and save the flight deck in the event of a helicopter mishap. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
