A group of military personnel in camouflage uniforms are gathered outdoors on a gravel surface, reviewing a document together while wearing face masks. The soldiers are wearing a mix of OCP (Operational Camouflage Pattern) and UCP (Universal Camouflage Pattern) uniforms, suggesting a multi-unit operation. The setting appears to be a staging or operational area with military vehicles and temporary structures visible in the background.

U.S. Soldiers with the 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade review their map before a land navigation exercise. Land navigation involves map reading, identifying terrain features on a map, plotting coordinates and using a compass to navigate many kilometers by foot to reach certain points. Land navigation is an important survival skill that 28th ECAB Soldiers must fine-tune prior to deployment.
