U.S. Soldiers with the 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade review their map before a land navigation exercise. Land navigation involves map reading, identifying terrain features on a map, plotting coordinates and using a compass to navigate many kilometers by foot to reach certain points. Land navigation is an important survival skill that 28th ECAB Soldiers must fine-tune prior to deployment.
