FORT BENNING, Ga. – A Soldier assigned to courtesy patrol duty at the Fort Benning commissary April 15 checks would-be shoppers for proper identification cards and for whether they are they are wearing face masks or similar face coverings, a recent requirement at Department of Defense facilities as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19. Other precautions in place here include a ban on visits for social, recreational and entertainment purposes, but officials are also granting certain requests for visits they deem appropriate.
