U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. David A. Krumm renders his first salute as lieutenant general to Air Force Gen. Terrence G. O’Shaughnessy, commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern command, during his promotion ceremony April 20, 2020, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. O’Shaughnessy was the presiding officer for the ceremony, and attended the event via video teleconference. Krumm’s promotion places him as the senior military officer in Alaska, responsible for the integration of all military activities in the Alaskan joint operations area, synchronizing mission operations for more than 21,000 active-duty and reserve forces from all services.
