Soldiers from 531st Hospital Center, based out of Fort Campbell, Ky., gather medical supplies needed for replenishing a patient’s room at the Javits New York Medical Station, April 2. Soldiers, along with FEMA personnel and other federal, state and local agencies began operating a temporary medical station out of the JNYMS, March 30, to care for patients in an effort to relieve the burden on local hospitals.
