Patricia Thomas, a surgical technician assigned to the 531st Hospital Center, Fort Campbell, Ky., dons her exam gloves before heading onto the patient floor at Javits New York Medical Station, April 2. Soldiers, along with FEMA personnel and other federal, state and local agencies began operating a temporary medical station out of the JNYMS, March 30, to care for patients in an effort to relieve the burden on local hospitals.
