U.S. Marines assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 323 perform maintenance on an F/A-18C Hornet aircraft aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) June 26, 2012, in the Pacific Ocean. Nimitz was under way conducting carrier qualifications in preparation for Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2012. RIMPAC is a biennial, U.S. Pacific Command-led exercise designed to enhance regional interoperability and to promote stability in the region.
