Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Kathy La Sauce, center, and female leaders assigned to the 89th Airlift Wing gather for a photo at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, March 5, 2020. The 89th AW invited La Sauce to tour the wing, talk to Airmen and present her with a customized SAM Fox blues jacket in honor of her contributions to the Air Force. La Sauce achieved a number of firsts during her career including the first female to pilot the C-141 Starlifter aircraft, first female pilot for the 89th AW and the first woman to command an aerial port squadron.
