An Airman poses for a photo with retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Kathy La Sauce at the conclusion of fireside chat and Q&A session at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, March 5, 2020. The 89th Airlift Wing invited La Sauce to tour the wing, talk to Airmen and presented her with a custom SAM Fox blues jacket in honor of her contributions to the Air Force. She achieved a number of firsts during her career including the first female to pilot the C-141 Starlifter aircraft, first female pilot for the 89th AW and the first woman to command an aerial port squadron.
