VICKSBURG, Miss--The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is one of the most advanced engineering and scientific research organizations in the world. Our facilities range from the world’s fastest supercomputers to one-of-a-kind physical models; we host one of six Department of Defense High Performance Computing Centers. Other unique facilities that enhance our ability to develop innovative solutions include the world’s most powerful centrifuge, blast effects capabilities, physical models of river and coastal projects, endangered species laboratories, heavy vehicle simulators, hazardous waste research laboratories, frost and ice engineering resources, an earthquake simulator, and a 1,800-foot coastal research pier. ERDC research is contributing to a safer, better world. (U.S. Army photo by Robert DeDeaux)
