A U.S. Coast Guard rigid inflatable boat (RIB) is conducting a nighttime maritime interdiction operation alongside what appears to be a low-profile vessel or semi-submersible, commonly associated with drug trafficking. Multiple Coast Guard personnel in orange survival vests are visible on the red RIB, which is positioned adjacent to the gray, low-riding vessel. At least one individual is visible seated on the gray vessel near its stern.

A Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant boarding team intercepts a suspected low profile vessel with aproximately 2,183 pounds of cocaine onboard while on patrol in the Eastern Pacific Ocean Jan. 9, 2020. The removal of large quantities of contraband through interdictions such as these disrupts the operations of transnational criminal organizations, deterring violence and promoting stability of governments in the region.
