PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 13, 2020) – U.S. Marines load support vehicles into a landing craft, air cushion (LCAC) assigned to the “Swift Intruders” of Assault Craft Unit 5 in the well deck aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27) during Exercise Iron Fist 2020. Iron Fist is an annual exercise designed to enhance the U.S. and Japanese forces’ ability to plan, communicate and conduct combined amphibious operations.
