The 1SOSFS built a new K-9 training pad after one of their military working dogs, Max, was bitten by a poisonous spider and almost retired prematurely. The pad took six weeks to complete, cost $175 thousand and is made of canine grass which is a fake grass that discourages harmful insects from inhabiting it.
