2nd Lt. Carlo Salvarani, platoon commander for 3rd Platoon, Delta Company, 2nd Tank Battalion, guides one of the platoon’s M1A1 Main Battle Tanks to be refueled at a landing zone June 20, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. The platoon’s tanks were refueled by two CH-53E Super Stallions from Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 366. The refuel was part of Exercise Mailed Fist, a large-force exercise that 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing is conducting from June 18–22, and took about 20 minutes to complete.
