Kenneth Strong, right, commanding officer of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), and Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Vanessa Avalos, a Sailor assigned to deck department aboard George Washington, cut a cake during a ceremony in the forecastle celebrating deck department’s move back aboard the ship.
