Marisol Emerson, certified optometry assistant, demonstrates the Oculus Pentacam which is used to assess corneal thickness of the eye. The machine is one of the most up-to-date “early warning” technology tools in the CRDAMC’s Optometry Clinic’s arsenal enabling doctors to better screen and evaluate patients for glaucoma and other ocular issues. Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness worldwide but treatable if caught early. (U.S. Army photo by Patricia Deal, CRDAMC Public Affairs)
