Maj. Gen. Peter Andrysiak, (right) commander of U.S. Army Alaska, sits with Brig. Gen. Joseph Streff, director of Joint Staff for the Alaska National Guard, as he receives a briefing from various leadership within the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Alaska National Guard. The DMVA invited Andrysiak to the National Guard armory for an immersion briefing to provide him with information about the organization. Andrysiak was briefed on the divisions within the department, including the Alaska Office of Veterans Affairs, Alaska Military Youth Academy, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, State Defense Force, and Naval Militia, in addition to the Alaska Air National Guard and Army National Guard, Jan. 10, 2020.
