Mike Sutton, (second from left), director of the Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, provides an update of the organization to Maj. Gen. Peter Andrysiak, commander of U.S. Army Alaska. The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs invited Andrysiak to the National Guard armory for an immersion briefing to provide him with information about DMVA. Andrysiak was briefed on the divisions within the department, including the Alaska Office of Veterans Affairs, Alaska Military Youth Academy, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, State Defense Force, and Naval Militia, in addition to the Alaska Air National Guard and Army National Guard, Jan. 10, 2020.
