Sailors disembark from amphibious transport dock USS Shreveport (LPD 12) for the final time, Sept. 26, during her decommissioning ceremony at Naval Station Norfolk. Shreveport was commissioned on Dec. 12, 1970, in Bremerton, Wash., and has served across the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans with 24 commanding officers and seven Presidents.
