Staff Sgt. Alfred Akeroyd, 770th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron Fire Protection air advisor, assists an Iraqi Air Force firefighter with his gear during an exercise, Dec. 4, 2019 at Martyr Muhammad Alaa Air Base, Iraq. Akeroyd, who joined the team in October, quickly began to assess his counterparts’ basic firefighting competencies. During his most recent visit, Akeroyd trained the Iraqi firefighters on donning their turnout gear (personal protective equipment) not only quickly, but properly. By the end of the training course, the Iraqi Air Force firefighters’ reaction times were cut in half from their previous attempts. Task Force-Air utilizes a network of advisors to connect and synchronize multiple domains in order to create self-sustaining and Iraqi-customized best practices. (U.S. Air Force photos by Tech. Sgt.
