The image shows multiple individuals wearing silver reflective hazmat/proximity suits with MSA-branded breathing apparatus and full-face respirators. One person in the center appears to be in civilian clothing (blue shirt) and is donning a protective hood, suggesting this may be a training exercise or emergency response scenario. The setting appears to be an outdoor or semi-covered area near a building wall.

Iraqi Air Force firefighters don their gear during an exercise, Dec. 4, 2019 at Martyr Muhammad Alaa Air Base, Iraq. Staff Sgt. Alfred Akeroyd, 770th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron Fire Protection air advisor, who joined the team in October, quickly began to assess his counterparts’ basic firefighting competencies. During his most recent visit, Akeroyd trained the Iraqi firefighters on donning their turnout gear (personal protective equipment) not only quickly, but properly. By the end of the training course, the Iraqi Air Force firefighters’ reaction times were cut in half from their previous attempts. Task Force-Air utilizes a network of advisors to connect and synchronize multiple domains in order to create self-sustaining and Iraqi-customized best practices. (U.S. Air Force photos by Tech. Sgt.
