A Special Operations Soldier with the Royal Thai Army checks his azimuth during Menton Week at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Dec. 10. The land navigation course was one of multiple events during the two-day competition between 1st SFG (A) and partnered nation teams who attended the commemorative week. Menton Week is an annual week-long remembrance of the deactivation of the First Special Service Force during World War II. The FSSF is considered a predecessor to modern U.S. Army Special Forces.
