JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Washington- A U.S. Army Special Operations Soldier with 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) lands after jumping from a CH-47 Chinook during Menton Week at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Dec. 11. Menton Week is an annual week-long remembrance of the deactivation of the 1st Special Service Force during World War II. The First Special Service Force is considered the predecessor to modern U.S. Army Special Forces.
