    PLYMOUTH, England (Dec. 6, 2019) - Cryptologic Technician (Maintenance) 2nd Class Brandon Utter, left, from New Smyrna, Florida, Chief Quartermaster Sean Appelberg, middle, from Athens, Georgia, and Fire Controlman (Aegis) 3rd Class Brian England, from Pahrump, Nevada, provide simulated cover fire for security teams on the pier from the flight deck aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) during a anti-terrorism force protection drill as part of the U.K.-led Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST), Dec. 6, 2019. FOST’s training is designed to prepare all types of navy vessels and auxiliaries for peacetime, peace-support, and war-fighting operations. Carney, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its seventh patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners as well as U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
