191205-N-QR336-1003 NARRA, Palawan (Dec. 5, 2019) Builder 3rd Class Bernard Correa, with the Armed Forces of Philippines (AFP) Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 2, marks out where the reinforcing steel needs to be placed before it is tied together at the project site for the new schoolhouse at Malatgao Elementary School. U.S. Navy Seabees deployed with NMCB-5’s Detail Palawan are working with the Seabees with AFP to build the schoolhouse. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
