PORTSMOUTH, Va. (Dec. 4, 2019) Alice Fitzpatrick, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth’s (NMCP) Health Promotion and Wellness Department community health educator, talks with visitors and staff on alcohol and the use of alcohol during the holiday season. NMCP’s Health Promotion and Wellness Department staff members displayed and passed out information to NMCP staff and visitors during the Impaired Driving Health Fair on Dec. 4. The event featured informational pamphlets and statistics, provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to educate the medical center staff and beneficiaries. The fair highlighted information about alcohol use and affects. Participants had the opportunity to wear beer goggles and ride a bike to show how drinking changes depth perception.
