    Wilmington native repairs Coast Guard cutter for Hurricane Dorian response, wins award from command

    U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Third Class Joshua Johnson, a machinery technician aboard the Cutter Sledge homeported in Baltimore, displays a coin he received from Rear Adm. Keith M. Smith during an award ceremony on the Sledge, Nov. 26, 2019.
    Johnson was chosen as sailor of the quarter for the 4th Quarter of 2019 for spending numerous hours on the aids to navigation construction tender deck, contributing to the Sledge by correcting over 40 ATON discrepancies and facilitating the safe navigation for the North Carolina ferries.
