ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 2, 2019) - Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Phillip Warren, middle front, from Virginia Beach, Virginia, leads boat deck operations while lowering a rigid-hull inflatable boat over the side of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64), as part of the U.K.-led Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST), Dec. 2, 2019. FOST’s training is designed to prepare all types of navy vessels and auxiliaries for peacetime, peace-support, and war-fighting operations. Carney, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its seventh patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners as well as U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
