    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

Colonel Robert Brodie, Commanding Officer of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), addresses his Marines and Sailors in the Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 27, 2019. More than 150 Marines and Sailors flew to a landing zone six miles away, marching back with a sustainment load, personal protective equipment, and weapons in preparation for an upcoming deployment. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
