A CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter, with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), lands to drop off Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), in the Central Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 27, 2019. More than 150 Marines and Sailors flew to a landing zone six miles away, marching back with a sustainment load, personal protective equipment, and weapons in preparation for an upcoming deployment. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
