Daniel Davenport, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, mortuary affairs noncommissioned officer, carry the remains of World War II pilot 1st Lt. Loren Hintz to his burial site Nov. 16, 2019, in Florence Italy. Hintz crashed April 21, 1945 near Bologna, Italy while on a mission protecting Army Air Force bombers. Hintz's initial partially recovered remains were buried at an American cemetery in Florence more than 70 years ago, however in recent years his family undertook efforts to locate his crash site and recover the rest of his remains.
